Lewis Cohen was Mayor of Adelaide from 1889 to 1890. Again in 1901 to 1904, and a third term in 1909 to 1911. He was knighted in 1924 to become Sir Lewis Cohen. A north-south road through the parklands linking Greenhill Road and South Terrace in the City of Adelaide is named in his honour.
